Saturday. 3rd January 2009.Current Mood: Empty.
I started reading Twilight, but I kept skipping some of the pages as thet were either too boring(I have read the version a handul of times online) or I was able to memorise the whole paragraph by now.
Oh, I just happened to find out the exact reason why my HK version of New Moon and my Singapore version of Twilight was different in size, printing, colour(paper), weight and texture. Because my yesterday bought Twilight was the United Kingdom version, the newly printed version to answer the needs of crazy fans. Thus it was not the original version I though I was buying after all:/
Can you see that my New Moon was glossy in the cover while Twilight was of a complete different texture!!! Even their formatting of the book's cover was different!
So as the photograph says it all, New Moon was totally printed in the U.S.A. Which was perfect for Twilight was an American book after all. I meant Stephenie Meyer was an American, thus making her an American author. So Twilight was an American novel, techinally.
Even the price was printed as of US Dollars, with of course as usual the Canadian price in brackets next to it. I think I was too excited while purchasing Twilight at Popluar to notice something fishy. But I was well aware that it was very different in size, how stupid of me): And I was so obessed on getting it home at that exact moment that my brain did not process the website(www.stepheniemyer.co.uk) at that time, let alone the publisher( Atom instead of Little Brown). I will be very careful next time while buying Eclipse and Breaking dawn, but I will have to buy one more USA version of Twilight to complete with my full collection of the Twilight saga.
I suddenly thought of re-reading Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince as the movie was coming soon. So that I have a better idea of what the movie was about, because the last time I read the whole novel was one ore even two years ago already. That was when I still had the passion in reading.
I wondered how will I find the will to read every single word again, some chapters starts to make me fall asleep. And my memory confuses me and my knowledge of the plot with the other six series, I have to keep very hard with lossing my point, from jumping to the end of a total different novel in the Harry Potter series. Speaking of which, Bloomsbury somehow remins me strongly of Bloomberg, leading me to the thought of stock markets-.- Which occured to my mind so easily as the past month in HK, almost the whole afternoon(on TV and radio)it had to be somehting on stock markets, all the way till evening before some other things were broadcasted. I still get amused at how my mind works once in a while.
