Watched Suspect X. It was a movie deprived from the famous and hit Galileo TV series. This is a Japanese movie, there were a few versions of it's translated name, Suspect X, Scarifies of Suspect X and Devotion of Suspect X. I like the Devotion of Suspect X the most of all three, but in Singapore it was called Suspect X, so we shall stick to that.
容疑者Xの献身, the Devotion of Suspect X. In Japanese, Yougisha X no Kenshin.
I have always been a fan of Galileo TV series, though in Japanese:X The series were exciting and somewhat like that of CSI. But in this case, Detective Galileo was a genius in Physice and not any crim scene investigator. He solved murder cases using concepts of Physics for the fun of it, without any intention of revealing the murder or otherwise. Generally, other than finding out how the victim died from laws and theories of Physics, he had nothing to do with solving the murder case at all.
The Mathematics Genius and the Physics Genius.
Manabu Yukawa, although he is called "Detective Galileo" by friends of his, he admitted Tetsuya Ishigami was a real genius in the field of Mathematics. They were college friends, with Tetsuya Ishigami being the clever on than our lead Galileo. This movie is exciting as even Galileo faces difficulties at some point in solving this case of murder this time round.
Somehow I think Galileo is much better looking than Tetsuya Ishigami , maybe due to the fact that I like Physics more than Mathematics or is is because Tetsuya Ishigami was the murder, that's why I did not like him? I must say the Mathematics genius, Tetsuya Ishigami was a rather pitiful character in the movie. Although even Galileo respected him for his cleverness, he was always very lonely and shabby. Despite being very very clever and skilled at mathematics, his life was not such a life someone like him should lead. He taught Mathematics at some local high school, one that was a lousy school with none of the students even paying attention to his lessons, yet he continued to teach. Being a Genius mathematician, he should be having a high-piad job at some universities or research labs, but he due to having to care for his parents have no choice but to work in that high school. Such a pitiful life for such a talented person, wasted indeed. Hanaoka Yasuko, a lady working at a bento store which was also the genius mathematician's neighbour. Her and her daughter were the real murder and they were the reason Tetsuya Ishigami craeted the perfect murder, the perfect alibi and it's really a battle of wits. Love is indeed a trick question.
Everything has an explanation.
Even questions not related to science or physics.
Can Science explain everything?
Love?
The area of a triangle?
Base x Height divided by Love.
Or a circle would be Radius x Love.
Love is a construct, therefore... ...
(Above was part of speeches between Galileo and Detective Kaoru Utsumi, I personally think it's very funny and cute) More can be found in the Trailer of the movie itself.
Genius mathematician and high school teacher Tetsuya Ishigami (Shinichi Tsutsumi) has taken a fancy towards Hanaoka Yasuko, a lady working at a bento store. When he learns that Yasuko and her daughter have killed a person, he then helps the two of them to construct the perfect alibi. The police investigation runs into difficulty and Detective Kaoru Utsumi (Kou Shibasaki) seeks the advice of his friend, the brilliant physicist Manabu Yukawa (Masaharu Fukuyama). Ishigami is Yukawa's college friend. A fierce battle breaks out between the genius mathematician and genius physicist.

And Vanessa must be out of her mind to turn down a laptop as a present!!!! I am still trying to figure out what make me reject a laptop then. Perhaps I wanted something more than a laptop. I would really want a new and perfect phone(; But things that are perfect are hard to come buy, let alone find. Vanessa wants a phone which is thin, light, gorgeous, user-friendly, big screen, high megapixle camera, requires few charging, many GBs or memory and the list seems to go on forever. After doing the mathematics, Vanessa discovered the perfect phone, with all the things she wanted her phone to have. But....it's a China Phone, which Vanessa considers to that of a game of Russian Roulette every time one makes a call or sends and sms. Any recommendations, other than LG Ice-Cream and iPhone which she finds too common? Or shall I really ask Daddy to buy me a China phone when he returns to HK next month, think about the big screen, 12 mp camera, 20GB memory, attractive outer...is it worth it?
